Recycled Tube Suspension by Castor

Fallowed fluorescence. An oxymoron, you say? Well...sorta. The Castor Recycled Tube Suspension is a burnt out bundle of fluorescent tube lights, with steel straps comfortably gathering the dead glass cylinders around an internal light source and relegating what was once a principal point of illumination to diffuser duty. Tube is supported by a snaking 144" of rubberized power cord(s), the configuration of the potential excess wiring turning into a design project unto itself. Rock 'n' roll lumberjacks. That pretty much sums up the punk rock-loving, Toronto-based design team of Castor Design. Experiments in upcycling have resulted in an eclectic array of contemporary lighting and accessories. Castor Design pieces are smart, industrial and elegant--and definitely tongue-in-cheek. Salvaged materials are given a new, bright life, such as old burnt-out light bulbs being turned into a shade for another fixture.
